More than a million people suffer from musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) including back pain. Furthermore, the average sufferer spends 17 days a year off work with MSDs.

The HSE "Better Backs Campaign" was launched in 2006 and is aimed at helping employers reduce the physical and economic burden of low back pain, the most costly MSD.

At Bodymotion Chiropractic and Sports Injuries Clinic we feel that we are in the best position to help promote the campaign to local businesses for the following reason:

  • We consider ourselves experts at dealing with MSD particularly low back pain as our chiropractors have masters degrees in chiropractic, are government registered and have at least 6 years experience of treating office workers.
  • There are countless high quality research studies to support chiropractic as an effective treatment for low back pain.
  • Our clinic is conveniently situated in the heart of the city and our appointment times are flexible open 5 days a week from 8am till 6.30pm.
  • Our chiropractors are covered by all major health insurers including AXAPPP and BUPA.

We are currently running onsite screening programmes which would involve our chiropractors performing posture assessments, spinal health checks and brief consultations with any of your employees either with the aim of preventing the onset of MSDs or for your employees to voice any concerns about their individual muculoskeletal complaints.

Spinal Health Check

spine

This is a 20 minute "one to one" consultation  with a chiropractor. During this period a series of tests will be performed to ascertain areas of muscular weakness, muscular tightness, joint stiffness, muscular and joint tension, core stability and range of motion etc. If your employee suffers with any discomfort, This assessment can be tailored towards finding out the probable diagnosis through specific orthopaedic and neurological testing.

Posture Analysis

Good spinal posture       enables the mechanics of   the spine to work more  efficiently thus helping reduce potential strain from both body weight and movement.
Unfortunately, today's modern lifestyles along with the natural forces of gravity challenge our healthy upright postures leading to signs of a poor posture such as increased roundness of the mid-back,

head carried forward

and chin poked

(Liebenson 1996)

Digital postural analysis is a unique tool which demonstrate readily understandable postural faults which can then be addressed.
